Embodied Mindfulness is a way of being in which you are fully connected with your body and you feel safe whatever your situation.

Your mind is quiet and present to your experience of life happening this moment and your heart feels warm and open to yourself and to those around you.

It is a state in which it feels good to be alive!

Tai Chi Qi Gong comprises a series of practices which, though not difficult to learn, with daily practice can transform who we are. They can help us recover our ground, our centres, and our inner power.

And in doing so, we have an antidote to the stress, tensions and anxiety caused by modern life along with much that we call mental illness.

This course functions both as an embodiment training through Qi Gong which you will be able to work with for the rest of your life, and as a foundation to learning Tai Chi if this interests you.

The focus of the 12 weeks is on your daily practice and journey, not the online classes which are just there to guide your practice. I recommend at least 30-40 minutes per day or longer if you can. I try and do at least 1 1/2 hours / day usually more.

The design of the course is built around six two-week blocks:

  • In the first week, we will have an online session together to introduce the new practices. You will then have the rest of the week to explore the practices.
  • In the second week, we will have another online session to repeat the practices together. You will have the opportunity to discuss any questions that have come up. Questions can be sent to me during the week also. Finally there will a second week to practice what you have learnt before we start on the next block.

I hope this will be an effective learning style which fits with the online model.

You will also have supporting videos and a manual to reflect on and document what you learn while doing your practice. There is also a facebook group where observations can be discussed amongst course members.

Finally at some stage, I hope we will meet for a workshop or holiday together in person. Previous events have been in Italy and Southern Thailand.

Personel Online Tutorials

I offer private 1-1 Qi Gong sessions online for students who wish to have more individual attention. It is a very different feeling to class teaching and I recommend it, if you are able. This is how I learnt myself in China.

I generally allow the student to direct the class and I will offer everything I can to support their interest. At the same time, I will do what I can do draw attention to areas which might be improved on.

Cost: 1-1 £50 / hour on pre-agreement.

Nb. In person teaching will resume at some stage!
